The studio

Cinema-scale work at advertising speed

Makaira builds films the way a post house builds a cut — frame by frame, with direction over every shot. The tooling is generative; the craft is not. That combination puts feature-grade imagery inside a brand budget and a brand timeline.

Hotel Martinez

Cannes under occupation, 1940 to the mid-fifties. A Sicilian-born hotel magnate keeps the Martinez — and the people inside it — through the war. Adapted from a script by Eric Sabbag. Built shot by shot: character face-lock, scene plates, then the sequence.

Mythology

Each episode carries a myth into a situation you would recognise from your own week, and lets the old story do the teaching. Greek first, other traditions after. Narrative, image and dialogue rather than narration over stills.

Brand film

Blue Marlin

The studio's own piece. Seven generations run as one sequence, dull water igniting to cobalt, closing on the Makaira transom. Made to show what the pipeline does when nobody is briefing it.

Method

Every shot is directed twice

Generative tools drift — faces bleed between characters, cameras go static, the image starts to look machine-made. The pipeline exists to stop all three before they reach the cut.

Face lock

Each character is trained to a fixed identity before a single scene is written.

Character sheet

Six panels per character — angles, wardrobe, lighting — so they hold across the film.

Scene plate

The environment is built and lit on its own, separate from anyone standing in it.

Shot

Character and plate composed with a named lens, a real camera move, and a last frame.

Finish

Upscale, grade, voice. Cloned donor audio drives lip-sync where dialogue carries the scene.
